Cancel a Postbatch
Changed your mind about a mailing? You can cancel a Postbatch until its production run has collected the items at the cutoff. Owners, Admins and Editors can cancel.
Cancel the whole Postbatch
- Open Postbatches and choose the Postbatch.
- Choose Cancel Postbatch at the top right.
- Confirm with Cancel Postbatch.
The open items are cancelled and their reservations are released, so the amount is available on your balance again. The status becomes Cancelled.
When you can cancel
| Status | Can you cancel? |
|---|---|
| Draft, Importing, Validated | Yes. Nothing has been reserved yet. |
| Pending approval | Yes. |
| Approved | Yes, until the cutoff of the production run. The reservation is released. |
| Scheduled for run, In production, Completed | No. The cards are already part of a production run. |
After the cutoff the cancel button is gone. The cards are then being produced and charged. Contact PostBuddy support straight away if something is seriously wrong.
Cancel single items instead
You do not have to cancel everything because of a few rows.
- Before approval, choose Skip all on the review to skip the rows that need a fix, or approve with Skip the items that need attention.
- After approval, open the Postbatch's Items tab, open an item and choose Cancel item. This works until the cutoff.
- On the Items page, filter on the Postbatch, open the Needs attention tab, tick items and choose Cancel selected.
Stop only the import
While the mapping step is open, choose Cancel import. The uploaded file and its mapping are discarded and the Postbatch goes back to Draft, so you can upload another file.
What stays
A cancelled Postbatch stays in the list with its timeline, so you can see what happened. The uploaded CSV file is deleted 7 days after the cancellation. See Production runs and cutoffs for when the cutoff is.
Open a support ticket in the portal. Tell us what you tried and, if you can, which item or Postbatch it is about.
