Add a QR code

Updated 16 October 2026 · 2 min read

A QR code takes the recipient from the card to a web page. The link can be the same on every card or personal per item, and you can count how often each card is scanned.

Add a QR code

  1. In the editor, open Codes and choose QR code.
  2. Place and size the code on the card. Leave enough white space around it.
  3. Open Properties and enter the web address under URL.

To make the link personal, use a field in the address, for example https://example.com/offer?code={{code}}. Each item fills in its own value. See Add fields to a template.

SettingWhat it does
URLThe web address the code opens. Fields in {{ }} are filled per item.
TrackablePrints a short link with scan tracking instead of the address itself.
Error correctionL, M, Q or H. A higher level reads better when the code is damaged, but makes the code denser.
Quiet zoneThe white margin around the code.
ColourThe colour of the code.

Count scans

Turn on Trackable (short URL with scan tracking). Every card then gets its own short link that forwards to your address and records each scan.

  • On an item, the QR scans section shows the short link, the number of scans and the first and last scan.
  • On a Postflow, the Activity tab shows the scans across its items.

Scans by bots and link previews are forwarded too, but not counted. A scan appears a minute or so after it happened.

Trackable QR codes need the QR tracking feature in your plan. Without it, you cannot publish a version that contains one. The web address must start with http:// or https://; otherwise the code is printed without tracking.

After the retention period

When an item's recipient data is anonymised, its scan details are deleted and only the counts remain. The short link keeps working, because printed cards stay around longer than the data behind them.

Before you publish, check the card in the preview. See Preview and proof PDF.
