Pause or archive a Postflow

Updated 16 October 2026 · 1 min read

Pause a Postflow when you want to stop sending for a while, for example during a holiday or while you update a template. Archive it when you are done with it for good. Owners, Admins, Editors and Developers can do both.

Pause and resume

  1. Open Postflows and choose the Postflow.
  2. Choose Pause at the top right.

While a Postflow is paused:

  • It keeps accepting new items from the API or an integration. Nothing is lost.
  • Held and ready items are not released and are not collected at the cutoff of a production run.
  • New items are still checked, so items with a problem still show up as needing attention.

Choose Resume to start again. PostBuddy then checks the waiting items at once against the send rule.

Paused Postflows still count toward the Postflow limit of your plan. Archive the ones you no longer need.

Archive

  1. Open the Postflow and choose the menu with the three dots at the top right.
  2. Choose Archive.
  3. If items are still open (held, pending approval or ready), tick Cancel the open items as well. Without this, the archive is refused.
  4. Choose Archive to confirm.

An archived Postflow rejects new items. Its settings can no longer be changed, and it cannot be paused or resumed. Completed items and their history stay visible.

You cannot undo an archive in the portal. If you need the Postflow again, create a new one. Remember that a new Postflow has a new id, so your integration or API connection must use the new id.

Find archived Postflows

On the Postflows page, filter on Archived to see them.

Items that are already scheduled for a production run or in production are not affected by pausing or archiving. See Production runs and cutoffs.
