Fix items that need attention
An item that needs attention has a problem PostBuddy cannot solve on its own, such as a missing house number or an empty required field. It waits until you repair or cancel it. It is never cancelled automatically. Owners, Admins, Editors and Approvers can repair items.
Find the items
- Open Items and choose the Needs attention tab. A dot on the tab means there are items waiting.
- On the dashboard, a banner shows how many items need a fix before the next cutoff.
- On a Postflow, the first step shows "need a fix"; on a Postbatch, see the Need a fix list.
Use Filters to narrow the list to one Postflow or Postbatch.
Repair one item
- Choose the item. It opens on the right with a preview and the warnings.
- Read the warning. It names the field and the code, for example
recipient.postalCode: postal_code_invalid. See Address rules and warnings. - Under Repair, correct the name, address lines, postal code, city or country.
- To fix a template field, edit Variables (JSON), for example
{"firstName": "Anna"}. - Choose Repair item.
The item is checked again straight away. If it passes, it becomes Held and follows the send rule of its Postflow, or waits for approval of its Postbatch. If the address is on your suppression list, it becomes Suppressed. If something is still wrong, it stays in the list with the new warning.
Repair many items at once
- On the Needs attention tab, tick the items, or use Select all.
- Choose Repair selected.
- Pick the Field, for example Postal code, City or a template field, and enter the New value.
- Choose Repair followed by the number of items.
Every selected item gets the same value and is checked again. The bar shows how many items were repaired.
If the same mistake is in many items from one source, also fix it at the source: your CRM, your Salesforce flow or your CSV file. Otherwise the next items have the same problem.
Cancel instead
Not worth repairing? Tick the items and choose Cancel selected, or open one item and choose Cancel item in its menu.
Reminders
By default, PostBuddy reminds Owners, Admins, Editors and Approvers when items have needed attention for 3 days, and again after 14 days. They also get a notification 24 hours before a cutoff when items still need a fix.
A held item can only change its send date and external reference. To change its address, cancel it and create it again.
Open a support ticket in the portal. Tell us what you tried and, if you can, which item or Postbatch it is about.
