Fonts

Templates can use three kinds of fonts:

  • The library: 25 open-licence families that ship with PostBuddy (ids fnt_<key>, source curated).
  • Google Fonts: every open-source Google Font with Latin support, about 1,600 families (ids fnt_g_<key>, source google). PostBuddy fetches a family from Google the first time it is used, keeps it in its own EU storage and serves it from there. Your visitors' browsers never contact Google. All of these fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, the Apache License or the Ubuntu Font Licence, which allow embedding in print files.
  • Your own fonts: TrueType, OpenType or WOFF2 files your organisation uploads after confirming it holds an embedding licence (source organisation).

A document lists the fonts it uses in fonts. When you publish a version through the API, every font in that list must be one of the three kinds above, or the publication answers 422 validation_failed with the issue code font_missing.
